Excerpt from the Novel “The Chronicles of Integrated Friends”
“Good morning Dr. Naomi, are you ready to test my new flex surgical instrument today?” Long pause, Dr. Naomi is not one for many words. Jamison has grown accustom to her demeanor. They have worked closely together, for the past five years.
This specially designed flex robotic arm is being used for the first time on a patient, Jamison is excited about it. Dr. Naomi can see his big smile through his dark almond shaped eyes. Today’s procedure is to remove a tumor off the liver of a mid-age patient.
As he leaves the hospital, he receives a phone call from an unknown number. He answers, “This is...” He pauses for a minute, the caller says, “Jamison, this is Jon, we need to meet today.” Jamison replied, “It will have to be this afternoon because I have evening plans.” Jon replies, “That’s why I need to meet with you in person today, to discuss what we talked about the other night.” Jamison says, “Let’s meet at two o’clock at the same restaurant as before.” Jon agrees and says, "Remember what I said Jamison, if you are not willing to risk the usual, you will have to settle for ordinary.”
Jamison is toying with the conversation he just hung up from. He is contemplating this business proposition, but he hasn’t made a final decision yet. Although he trusts Dr. Naomi, he has an uneasy feeling about Jon.
